Abstract
As part of the response to COVID-19, the Mastercard Foundation launched a recovery and resiliency program to respond to the challenge. Through this work they identified new priority sectors which included a new focus on bolstering health as an economic sector in Africa. The Mastercard Foundation indicated an interest in partnering with U of T and African partner universities in this new focus. This pre-read material for the Health Outcomes Workshop held on February 9 and 10, 2021 at the University of Toronto, provides background on this collaboration and information on the relevant partner organizations.
