Abstract
This Strategic Roadmap and Briefing Note (translated into French), outlines the Mastercard Foundation’s Centre for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) Strategic Roadmap (2022–2025) and addresses the severe lack of access to quality education in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The strategy aims to leverage technology to improve learning outcomes and prepare young Africans for dignified work. CITL works as an "honest broker" at the intersection of governments and EdTech entrepreneurs, supporting the design and scaling of solutions, and partnering with Tech Hubs to incubate innovators. The roadmap focuses on building government capacity to mainstream a resilient hybrid teaching and learning model. It also specifically plans to address systemic barriers, opaque policies, and significant gender and disability gaps impeding EdTech use across the continent. CITL aims to reach 1.8 million youth by 2025.
