Abstract
This document outlines the Foundation's Research and Evaluation Policy, which aims to strengthen programs and policies that alleviate poverty by guiding the Foundation's approach to generating and using knowledge. The policy emphasizes that research and evaluation are central to their work, underpinning an integrated learning approach for evidence-informed decisions and amplified impact. It sets out three core principles: research and evaluation should be strategic and applied for impact; methods must be ethical, rigorous, and adapted to context; and the Foundation and its partners must collaborate to listen deeply, elevate voices, and leverage local knowledge. The policy provides guidance for Foundation staff, researchers, evaluators, and partners, ensuring that all research and evaluation activities align with the Foundation's core values and objectives of advancing financial inclusion, economic opportunities, and education in Sub-Saharan Africa. It also details the strategic role of communication in disseminating findings and engaging with knowledge users.
