Abstract
This document describes the case of ride hailing in Nairobi through a survey of 450 drivers. Among various questions, the survey asked drivers if their work was dignified, if it was fulfilling, and why or why not. Drivers revealed that all platform work is NOT created equal, and that both smart regulation and platforms’ own commitments represent important opportunities to create good work, even in markets where “typical” work opportunities leave much to be desired.
