Abstract
This report presents the Mastercard Foundation’s Roadmap for Nigeria for the period 2021-2025. The report has been developed in the context of Nigeria’s slow economic growth, infrastructure deficit and low level of human capital development, notably widespread poverty, high inequality, and rising youth unemployment, as well as lingering challenges of security and fragility. The preparation of the report is underpinned by Nigeria’s Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) 2021–2025, adopted by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2021 in response to the economic recession and the COVID-19 global pandemic. The report also aligns with the vision of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) designed to boost regional and continental trade.
