In 2024, the Corporate History team launched “Our History, Our Legacy,” a three-year campaign to connect all employees globally to the Foundation’s history, milestones, and ways of working. One of the tactics within this promotional campaign included the release of "History Spotlights", which highlight the Foundation's past work, and emphasize its unique approach to philanthropy through trust-based partnerships, collaborative learning, and empowerment of youth in driving sustainable impact.
This eight History Spotlight was posted to the Foundation's internal communication channels on September 3, 2024 and included the following contextual information:
Building trust and learning together, key threads woven into our history, require the ability to spend time together, share experiences, and learn from one another. In 2018, we established offices in seven African countries, decentralizing to be closer and more responsive to our work, our partners, and our program participants. This new chapter began with the opening of our first office in Rwanda, alongside the launch of our first two programs, Hanga Ahazaza and Leaders in Teaching. Embedding ourselves within the fabric of the communities we serve brings invaluable insights into their unique challenges and aspirations.
