In 2024, the Corporate History team launched “Our History, Our Legacy,” a three-year campaign to connect all employees globally to the Foundation’s history, milestones, and ways of working. One of the tactics within this promotional campaign included the release of "History Spotlights", which highlight the Foundation's past work, and emphasize its unique approach to philanthropy through trust-based partnerships, collaborative learning, and empowerment of youth in driving sustainable impact.
This fourth History Spotlight was posted to the Foundation's internal communication channels on July 9, 2024 and included the following contextual information:
We all remember the moment the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the globe. In a time of sudden isolation, health crises, and economic turmoil, the COVID-19 Recovery and Resilience Program (CRRP) was launched in April 2020, just a few short weeks after the emergency was declared. Through financial development, psychosocial support, and e-learning for students, the CRRP supported MSMEs, youth, and those most in need, including refugees and people living with disabilities. Our support during this time wasn't just about weathering the storm; it was about charting a course towards a more resilient and equitable future. Through CRRP, we enabled communities in Africa and Indigenous populations in Canada to endure, adapt, and emerge stronger than before.
