Creating Opportunities, Providing Jobs, Changing Lives Project

The "Creating Opportunities, Providing Jobs, Changing Lives Project (Al Morad)" was a significant initiative by Education For Employment (EFE) in Morocco, running from 2011 to 2016, and supported by the Mastercard Foundation. The project aimed to increase the employability of disadvantaged youth aged 15-29 in urban areas, with a focus on young women. EFE achieved an unprecedented scale-up, training nearly 15,000 young people and connecting many to job opportunities.

The project involved demand-driven training in soft skills, job search skills, and technical areas. EFE also worked on systems change by introducing employability curricula into universities and engaging government stakeholders. The final learning report aimed to assess the project's performance, synthesize learnings, and share lessons for developing effective youth employment programs. Key learnings were identified across areas such as business outreach, job matching, sourcing, training, sustainability, and monitoring and evaluation.
