Abstract
The Baseline Report for BRAC Uganda’s Health Program was written based upon survey results aimed to assess health conditions before the program's expansion in late 2010. It employed a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) design, surveying 3,799 households with children under five. The baseline revealed poor child health, with high prevalence of malaria, diarrhea, and ARIs, and inadequate prompt malaria treatment. Lack of money and accessibility hindered treatment-seeking. Low possession of Long-Lasting Insecticide-Treated Nets (LLINs) and limited family planning knowledge were also noted. The Northern Region exhibited disadvantages across most health and socioeconomic indicators. The findings will serve as a benchmark for future impact evaluations of BRAC Uganda’s Health Program
