Abstract
This article, published on September 14, 2016, discuses the Mastercard Foundation's partnership with CAP Youth Empowerment Initiative (CAP-YEI) in Kenya on the Basic Employability Skills Training (BEST model), part of the "Learn, Earn and Save Initiative". This holistic approach balances technical and employability skills, resulting in over 88% of 8,900 graduates finding work or training. It is now scaling up to reach over 60,000 additional young Kenyans.
