Abstract
This article, published on June 15, 2020, discusses the eight-year Strengthening Rural Youth Development Through Enterprise (STRYDE) partnership trained 68,000 youth in East Africa's informal sector, enabling them to secure livelihoods. Focusing on soft skills, aftercare, and women's empowerment, participants increased incomes by an average of 84%. Diversified income streams proved highly resilient, yielding 73% higher earnings.
