Abstract
This document is a final report on a comparative ethnographic study conducted in Cameroon, Congo DRC, Senegal, and Zambia. It investigates people's attitudes, perceptions, and usages of mobile money and Digital Financial Services (DFS). The study aims to understand the motivations behind using or not using these services and contextualizes these motivations through cultural, socio-economic, and political factors. Key themes explored include the role of trust, historical roots of monetary transactions, technological appropriation, regulatory perceptions, networks of belonging, and economic hierarchies, all influencing DFS uptake and financial inclusion.
