Abstract
IFC and the Mastercard Foundation conducted a study from 2014 to 2018 with partner financial institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa. The study explored Digital Financial Services (DFS) as a strategy for expanding financial access. It focused on strategic objectives, implementation, and impact. Unique benchmarks for banking-focused DFS implementation emerged, distinguishing it from MNO-led studies.
