Abstract
This 2022 Annual Report to Mastercard Worldwide details the Foundation's substantial progress, having committed $9.4 billion cumulatively and benefitted 146 million people. The Young Africa Works strategy enabled over 5.6 million young Africans to secure dignified work, half of whom are young women. Key programs saw significant activity: the Scholars Program celebrated a decade and set a goal to benefit 100,000 youth by 2030, while the EleV program in Canada supported over 16,000 Indigenous youth. The Saving Lives and Livelihoods initiative, a $1.5 billion partnership with Africa CDC, administered over 32 million COVID-19 vaccines and strengthened health security. The Foundation also influenced policy by supporting a youth-centric AfCFTA strategy and began diversifying its holdings.
