Abstract
This 2021 Annual Report to Mastercard Worldwide details the Foundation's substantial progress, having committed $6.7 billion cumulatively and improved 139 million lives. The Young Africa Works strategy enabled nearly 3 million young Africans to secure dignified work, expanding partnerships across the continent. The Scholars Program, the largest of its kind in Africa, aims to support 100,000 Scholars in total, adding 50,000 new tertiary scholarships. The EleV program in Canada supported over 10,000 Indigenous youth. A major focus was the Saving Lives and Livelihoods initiative, a $1.5 billion partnership for vaccine access and delivery in response to COVID-19. The Foundation deepened its presence by establishing offices and basing leadership in Africa, and shared key learnings on achieving equity and sustainability.
