Abstract
This 2020 Annual Report to Mastercard Worldwide discusses the Foundation swift response to the COVID-19 pandemic, approving up to $500 million for recovery and resilience. A major $1.3 billion Saving Lives and Livelihoods partnership with Africa CDC was announced for vaccine access and delivery across the continent and capacity building. The Young Africa Works strategy progressed despite disruption, enabling nearly 1 million youth in work, and began integrating pandemic impacts. The Scholars Program advanced towards a goal of 50,000 total Scholars and supported e-learning initiatives. The EleV program continued supporting Indigenous youth in Canada. The Foundation also deepened its presence by basing leadership and establishing offices in Africa, and shared key learnings from its initiatives.
